F. LaGard Smith

As a Bible scholar, attorney, and classroom teacher, Dr. Smith brings a unique blend of thorough biblical research, objective analysis, and personal insight to his writing. A popular lecturer, Dr. Smith often draws from a keen sense of wit and humor to hold the attention of his listening and reading audiences. Yet the seriousness of his mission is evident in both the topics of his books and in their earnest presentation.

Formerly professor of law at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and Scholar in Residence for Christian Studies at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Smith is a prolific author of more than 20 books on a wide variety of topics ranging from doctrinal commentaries to current social and moral issues to books of inspiration and devotion.

Dr. Smith divides his writing time between the States and rural England, where he and his wife, Ruth, live six months each year in the lovely Cotswold village of Buckland. In addition, Smith lectures and teaches to a wide variety of audiences throughout the world.

This particular work is the outgrowth of a suggestion by Dr. Smith's father, who early on implanted the idea that "somebody ought to put the Bible in the right order." Upon his father's death, Dr. Smith decided to launch just such a project, the result of which you hold in your hands. In the more than two decades since its original publication, The Daily Bible has blessed countless readers with its unique 2 chronological approach and informative narrative.
